About Vial

What is Vial?

Vial is an iOS app for tracking peptide protocols. It logs doses, visualizes plasma concentration over time, manages cycle scheduling, and surfaces adherence patterns — all on-device, with no account required.

Who is Vial for?

Adults conducting peptide research who want to track protocols rigorously without trusting their data to a third-party server. Common users: people running tendon-recovery (BPC-157, TB-500), GH-releaser (Tesamorelin, CJC-1295, Ipamorelin), longevity, or sleep stacks.

Does Vial sell peptides?

No. Vial is a tracking and visualization tool. We have no relationship with any peptide vendor and we don't recommend where to source compounds.

How is Vial different from a habit-tracking app or spreadsheet?

Habit apps don't model pharmacokinetics. Spreadsheets don't update concentration curves on every log, can't visualize body-map injection-site rotation, don't surface contraindication warnings, and don't have a peptide library with researched dosing ranges. Vial is purpose-built for peptide protocols.

Legal & Safety

Is BPC-157 legal?

BPC-157 is sold in the United States as a research chemical and is not FDA-approved for human use. Most recovery and longevity peptides in Vial's library are similarly classified as research chemicals. Vial is a tracking tool only — we don't sell peptides, recommend vendors, or provide medical advice. Always consult a licensed physician before starting any peptide protocol.

Is Tirzepatide legal?

Tirzepatide is FDA-approved as Mounjaro and Zepbound. Compounded tirzepatide from licensed compounding pharmacies operates in a separate regulatory category. Vial tracks doses for research and personal-use logging — we do not sell or source peptides. Always consult a licensed physician before starting.

Is Semaglutide legal?

Semaglutide is FDA-approved as Ozempic and Wegovy. Compounded semaglutide from licensed compounding pharmacies exists in a separate regulatory category. Vial is a tracking tool — we don't sell or recommend vendors. Always consult a licensed physician.

Is using Vial considered medical advice?

No. Vial does not provide medical advice. The app shows researched dosing ranges, half-life data, and contraindication warnings sourced from published literature, but these are reference materials — not a substitute for guidance from a licensed physician.

Why does Vial show contraindications?

Some peptides have known interactions or risk profiles (e.g., GH releasers in someone with active malignancy, GLP-1 agonists with personal/family history of medullary thyroid cancer). Surfacing these warnings is a harm-reduction stance, not medical guidance.

Privacy & Data

Where is my data stored?

On your iPhone or iPad only. Vial uses an encrypted local SQLite database. We have no servers that store your dose logs or protocols.

Do you have an account system?

No. There's no sign-up, no login, no email collection. Open the app and start using it.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Profile → Data → Export. You'll get a CSV containing your dose logs and protocol history. We don't keep a copy.

What happens if I delete the app?

Your data is deleted with the app. There's no cloud backup we can restore from. If you want to keep your history, export before deleting.

Does Vial use any analytics or tracking SDKs?

No. We use Apple's In-App Purchase APIs (required for the App Store) and RevenueCat for subscription management. Neither tracks user behavior beyond purchase events. There are no Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, Sentry, or similar SDKs.

Pricing

Is Vial free?

The core tracking — dose logs, protocols, body-map logging, smart insights, reconstitution calculator — is free. Pro features (Half-Life Stack, Peptide Guide) require a subscription with a 7-day free trial.

What's in Vial Pro?

Pro includes the Half-Life Stack (real-time plasma concentration curves), the Peptide Guide (stack analysis based on your active protocol), and unlock for all 28 protocol templates. Free users get 12 templates and basic tracking.

How do I cancel my subscription?

iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Vial → Cancel. Or in-app: Profile → Vial Pro → Manage. Apple handles the cancellation.

Is there a refund policy?

Refunds are handled by Apple per their App Store policy. Request via reportaproblem.apple.com within 90 days of purchase.

Technical

Which devices is Vial supported on?

iOS 17 and later. iPhone and iPad both supported. No Apple Watch app currently — log via Siri Shortcuts on the watch instead.

Will there be an Android version?

Not currently planned. Vial is built natively in SwiftUI to take advantage of iOS-specific capabilities (Siri Shortcuts, Widgets, on-device CoreData encryption). An Android version would require a parallel codebase.

Does Vial sync across devices?

Not yet. Each device has its own local database. We're investigating CloudKit-based sync that would keep data encrypted and on-device while making it available across your devices.

Specific peptide questions

How do I track a BID protocol in Vial?

When creating a peptide in your protocol, set frequency to "BID" (twice daily). The app will create two scheduled slots per day — Morning and Evening — and prompt you to log each one separately.

How do I calculate reconstitution volume?

Open Reconstitution Calculator. Enter any two of: vial total mg, BAC water volume, target dose. The calculator derives the third value plus syringe units (U-100 / U-50 / 1.0mL).

What's a half-life curve?

A half-life curve shows how a drug's concentration in your bloodstream decays over time after a dose. The Half-Life Stack chart in Vial overlays curves for every active peptide so you can see peak windows, timing overlap, and when concentration drops below the therapeutic threshold.

How do I log a missed dose?

Open the row in Today's Doses and tap "Log" if you took it (you can backdate via Edit details). Long-press the row and tap "Skip this dose" if you missed it intentionally. Skipped doses don't count against adherence.

Ready to start tracking?

7-day free trial. Your data stays on-device.
